HBR Reports

Also known as a HomeBuyer Report, the report is less detailed than a building survey, although the fee is lower. It is based upon an extended form provided by the RICS, and concentrates upon serious or significant defects which might cause you to withdraw from the purchase or revise your offer. The HBR report also includes a market valuation, and an assessment of reinstatement cost for buildings insurance.

An HBR report is particularly suitable in the following circumstances:

It is a property of conventional design and construction built since 1850

It appears to be in reasonable condition

You want general reassurance on condition and value, but do not require detailed information or advice.
